atlanta underground born rapper SahBabii created a hype visual world for the boston show of his resurrection tour in the wake of his 2024 album saheem. the club style venue, big night live, made for an enjoyable and immersive experience as a concert goer. those in the sunken pit jumped and sang in unison, and those at the tables surrounding the floor sat back and enjoyed the show. there was no lack of energy or enthusiasm from those seated though. there wasn't a phone that wasnt up or a voice that wasn't screaming when sahbabii emerged wearing a black trench coat and a red tie, rapping the lyrics to his heavenly don quan intro while sitting at a furnished dining table. the applause from the crowd and the energy from his hype men, dressed in all black, set the tone for him to launch into his most recent popular tracks. he beautifully delivered on the booming trap beats and light, upbeat melodies of saheem, which the crowd loved.

leading into the show’s second act, the black stage curtain lifted behind sahbabii, revealing the rapper’s creative stage design inspired by his 2018 album squidtastic. the set included a facade of his childhood house with a giant squid tentacle wrapped around it, with sahbabii sitting on the front stoop, rapping the slow-paced and sentimental sounding 1095 Osborne St.-a track titled after sahbabii’s childhood home address. the lights strobed throughout every song which, even for the slower tracks, maintained the high energy of the show and followed the trap beats of the music. his backup hype men, adorned in black leather, ski masks, and chains, kept the energy up as well.

about halfway through the show, sahbabii was joined by his frequent collaborator t3 to sing their sit marsupial superstar, which was met with enthusiastic singing from the crowd during its melodic hook. t3’s solo performance shortly after was also met with a sensational response from the crowd.

sahbabii included a bit to transition into the popular track squidrific, in which he pretended to unsuccessfully ignite a lighter, to mimic the beginning of the song. he made sure to treat the audience to fan favourites such as ready to eat, tonight and the sensual Boyfriend, which he dedicated to all the ladies in the room.

sahbabii kept the momentum up throughout his relatively short set, only lasting around an hour. he concluded with his hit pull up wit ah stick, and the viral viking with the help of his hype men. during the final number, there wasn't a single audience member standing still, the collective energy of the room was electric as sahbabii jumped with the crowd and his dancers on stage.

sahbabii, although undoubtedly popular among gen z, created a universally fun energy that electrified every attendee of big night live that night.
